Get Shredded event supports food bank
Semiahmoo Shopping Centre’s biannual Get Shredded Event was held Saturday, April 21 in celebration of Earth Day Weekend.
“This was our best shredding fundraiser to date,” said Jeri Cox, marketing director for the centre.
The event ran for just four hours (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and raised more than $7,500, collecting 1,415 pounds of food for Sources Food Bank and shredding over 20,000 lbs of paper.
The centre credits Super Save Shredding, RCMP volunteers and the team at Semiahmoo Shopping Centre for all pitching in to help support the event benefiting Sources Food Bank.
To date, Semiahmoo’s shredding events have raised a collective $50,000 and 8,500 lbs of food for the White Rock/South Surrey area food bank.
