Metrotown Welcomes Uncle Tetsu
Uncle Tetsu’s first location in Western Canada is now open at Metropolis at Metrotown. Shoppers have been waiting patiently for the opening of this global dessert chain famous for its signature Japanese cheesecake, a 7” treat hand-baked to perfection. For its opening weekend over the Victoria Day holiday, May 18-21, lineups started an hour before opening and continued throughout each day, with peak wait times over three hours. Shoppers hungry to taste the famous cheesecake were limited to one cake per person.
The 1,000-square-foot space is primarily used as a production kitchen and take-out counter—no seats are available.
Uncle Tetsu has been making its fan favourite products for over 25 years. It has expanded to various countries including China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, and Australia. Its first shop outside of Asia opened in Toronto in 2015, and now it’s made its way to Metropolis at Metrotown.
