Lunar New Year, Jazz at Brentwood
To celebrate Lunar New Year, Brentwood welcomed the Year of the Dog with a spectacular showcase of Chinese culture and entertainment. Special guests, members of the Burnaby council, were in attendance to participate in the ceremonial eye-dotting of the lucky animals.
Centre Court was transformed with a hanging lantern display while the afternoon of festivities included ceremonial dance, live drum and dance entertainment, plus a traditional lion dance to bring special blessings of luck and prosperity to retailers. Guests enjoyed lucky candies and gifts made by traditional dough makers, balloon twister artisans, knotted artisans, and a water paint calligrapher.

Coming up, to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month, Brentwood will be hosting their annual Live Jazz Concert Series, with performances from PK3 Jazz Trio, Take Two! and The Maria Ho Trio every Saturday and Sunday from March 31-April 29, between 12-2 p.m.
