Winter celebrations at The Market
Family Day was a huge success at the Market hosting more than 300 customers who came down to shop, pet adorable animals and take in a beautiful, sunny day.
Once again, the petting zoo was popular with the lineup extending down the East Plaza to the edge of the food court. Those who weren’t able to make it into the petting zoo, could still view and pet the baby animals from the outside.
Inside the Market, a puppet show was enjoyed by all attendees and the Nest Community Space was filled to capacity with parents and children experiencing the magic of the puppet theatre. The children’s Valentine card-making craft station saw over 150 cards created to celebrate love.
Lunar New Year event grows each year
Lonsdale also had a jam-packed Lunar New Year, starting off with an educational fan dancing workshop from Jessica Yue. Yew brought the tradition and beauty of the dance to the Rotunda while the crowd watched from all three levels of the Market. On the 2nd floor Retail Level, the Market hosted a lantern workshop with more than 250 Chinese lanterns created by guests.
Members of the Shao Lin Hung Gar Kung Fu Association performed a stunning Lion Dance in the afternoon, blessing the Market and over 30 vendors with wealth and luck for the New Year. Their energy and skilled movements were incredibly popular with guests, as was the traditional red envelope gifts from the God of Fortune.
