CANstruction Vancouver Held at The City of Lougheed Shopping Centre

The City of Lougheed was proud to host Vancouver’s most unique art exhibition and team-building event, CANstruction Vancouver. The event took place from November 3 – 11, under the theme, “It Takes a Village.”

In support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, CANstruction Vancouver is an annual competition in which teams of Architects, Engineers, Designers, Graphic Designers and Students from across the Greater Vancouver area get together to compete in CANstructing fantastic, huge sculptures made entirely out of nutritious canned food.

Each team had only 12 hours to build their structure on build day (November 3) before voting began! After the winners were declared the structures were displayed as art installations until November 11 at The City of Lougheed shopping centre. 100% of the proceeds from CANstruction Vancouver go towards the GVFB to support more than 27,000 people with food assistance each and every week.

The free public event brought energy and new guests to the centre! We’re proud to announce that the event raised $59,470 in canned food donations.
